A fully integrated farm
From egg to harvest, all in one place.
Vertically integrated aquafarming ensures 100% traceability
We are not interested in the fastest way to raise tilapia – only in the best way. We are constantly innovating and improving our fish farming and management processes.
By controlling the entire life cycle from egg to harvest, we ensure that our tilapia are raised with utmost care. And by processing our fish directly at the farm site, we avoid long truck journeys across rough roads. Our farming system means less stress for the fish – resulting in a premium product for consumers.

From egg to harvest
Our hatchery
Our hatchery is in Bugarama, about a 45-minute drive from the Lake Kivu farm. Bugarama lies much lower than Lake Kivu, so the climate is warmer. Here we house our brood stock and run breeding and incubation.

Our nursery
Close to the Bugarama hatchery we built a nursery that grows fingerlings up to 0.5 g. We produce around 1.2 million fingerlings a year. That covers our own demand and supplies farmers across Rwanda.

Our farm
Our farm lies in the south of Lake Kivu, where fish grow from 0.5 g to about 1 kg. First they are raised in 6×6 m cages up to 30 g. Then we move them to 10 m cages, where they grow to 1.1 kg.
